What better way to kick off the month than with an extended bank holiday weekend? A party atmosphere swept across the whole country as everybody got ready to dive straight into the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations to mark 70 years on the throne for the Queen, and you can’t have a countrywide party without the residents and carers across Wilby House and Marchmont. The long weekend of celebrations began with all hands on deck across Marchmont as the residents and carers sprang into action, teaming up to get to work transforming the home into the ultimate royal party with all the balloons, bunting and Union Jacks a Queen could need. Enjoying the ceremony with a spot of tea and a fine piece, the residents gathered around the tv to see all the festivities unfold live for themselves, taking in all the brilliant pageantry and live performances whilst trying to recognise as many of the young celebrities as they could…
With the weather holding up for a nice change, it would be a wasted opportunity to enjoy the celebrations from behind the tv screen. A long bank holiday weekend and nice weather only called for one thing – a lovely BBQ in the back garden. The residents didn’t need much of a shove outside as they welcomed the chance to get out in the sun to enjoy everything the kitchen team had prepared for them, topping it all off with a wee glass of champagne or a dream and an ice lolly, because why not?
